Who Is Peter Nygard, The Canadian Millionaire Accused Of Raping 10 Girls & Women
Courtney Shea February 19, 2020

Content warning: The following post contains depictions of physical & sexual violence.

UPDATE: Since the story broke last week, lawyers representing the women behind the class action suit against Peter Nygard say they have received  "information from over 100 witnesses, including dozens of victims, who have come forward with additional evidence relating to alleged rape and sexual abuse."

Original story follows.

Last week, Finnish-Canadian fashion mogul Peter Nygard was named in a civil class-action lawsuit in which 10 women allege they were lured, bribed, and sexually assaulted by Nygard at his mansion in the Bahamas. Among the most-shocking allegations are that Nygard drugged and raped his victims (many of whom were 14 and 15 at the time), and that he maintained a database of over 7,500 girls and women. Here, everything you need to know about the man people are calling “Canada’s Jeffrey Epstein,” the Prince Andrew connection, and whether criminal charges against Nygard are likely to follow.

Peter Nygård and Louis Bacon Feud Ensues Following Blistering New York Times Report
[WWD]   Rosemary Feitelberg

THE BATTLE INTENSIFIES: Hedge fund billionaire Louis Bacon wasted no time in responding to Sunday’s searing front-page article in The New York Times, “Ultra Wealthy Neighbors, A Feud and a Rape Case.” And his rival Peter Nygard also weighed in on the matter late Sunday via a spokesman.

The lengthy investigative article chronicled the 15-year litigious and costly battle between Bacon, 63, and Nygård, 78, founder of the moderate-priced sportswear label Nygård. The billionaires have neighboring waterfront properties in the Bahamas’ affluent Lyford Cay. The “epic battle” between the two adversaries has reportedly led to “tens of millions” and the filing of 25 lawsuits in five jurisdictions.

Earlier this month 10 women, whose names have not been revealed, filed a lawsuit against Nygård alleging rape, sex trafficking and sexual assault. Some of the victims, including a few who were minors at the time, alleged they were plied with alcohol, and in some case pills by Nygård, before being raped or sodomized at “pamper” parties held at Nygård’s Mayan-inspired estate in the Bahamas. Some of the alleged victims claimed they were enticed by the prospect of modeling contracts.

Bahamians are grappling with new and disturbing allegations, which have come in waves over the past few weeks, involving Canadian fashion designer Peter Nygard and his former neighbour, Louis Bacon, who both once lived in an exclusive gated community on the western tip of this Caribbean island.

The two wealthy men have been feuding in the courts for more than a decade. It started as a simple property dispute, and escalated into an all-out legal war.

The latest wave came Sunday in the form of an investigative report from the New York Times, which reported more than two dozen women have made allegations of rape or sexual misconduct against Nygard over the past 40 years.

Refinery29 above... geared towards young women but I saw some poll where they were named with some other company. They don't seem to be all fluff, not too familiar with them.

You certainly would not think, there would be a case that is slightly similar to Jeffrey Epstein's but here we are.

He is denying it all, so, I changed it from calling him the Canadian Epstein though, the accusations are similar. He has not been found guilty.

Both, he and Epstein might have known Prince Charles Andrew? Sounds like it.

Canadian Billionaire Peter Nygard has been found guilty by a court of abusing 5 women, including a 16 year old girl.

A Toronto jury found him guilty of 4 out of 5counts of sexual assault for attacks which took place between the 1980’s to mid 2000’s.

In one instance, a woman testified that she was only 16 years old when an older man she was dating brought her to Nygard’s headquarters.

She said Nygard sexually assaulted her and when she was leaving the building, a woman then  handed her an emergency contraceptive pill.

He is currently fighting extradition to the U.S. where he faces a lawsuit brought by 57 women alleging the billionaire used violence, intimidation, bribery and company employees to lure victims and avoid accountability.
