British warplanes should be used to protect a Syrian city facing what the UN has called a 'massacre on a scale that has never been seen', a senior Tory said last night.

Tobias Ellwood, chairman of the Commons defence committee, said the UK should help stop Idlib turning into a 'bloodbath'.
