Fox's Henry, Regan defend Cavuto after Trump attacks: 'Outstanding man, outstanding journalist'

Several Fox News anchors and pundits have come to the defense of longtime Fox News and Fox Business anchor Neil Cavuto calling him an "outstanding man" and "an utmost journalist" after he faced criticism from President Trump at a rally on Wednesday night.

The president lashed out at former anchor Shephard Smith and Cavuto, saying all of FNC's "high rated shows are the ones that like Trump" while "all of their loser shows are the ones that don’t like Trump."

The president said Smith "had lowest ratings, and now Neil Cavuto took his place.”

“This speaks to the problem with this presidency," Fox News contributor Richard Fowler, a Democrat, declared to anchor Ed Henry on Thursday night. "He can run on the good economy and I will give him points for that but to sit on this air and trash a good journalist, it speaks to the problem that we have.”

This is when I stopped watching the rally...not because I love Cavuto but because Trump just went on and on about it..

I like Cavuto more than I like Trump.  Always have. 

I didn't see the rally last night because I live streamed the Phoenix one (looking for people I know there.  He called the State Chair of the GOP up, so that was cool), and can't imagine it would be much different.  Also, as a habit switch over to Amazon Prime on my Fire stick to binge watch something daily at 7PM MST because that's when Hannity the Worthless comes on.

Yeah, like popularity. Millions of people cheer the honest language. He expresses himself like ordinary Americans do everyday.  In political terms he connects.

What ever happened to speaking the plain truth? The deep state and media are trying to illegally remove my president, using deceit, propaganda and the instruments of government. So far, it’s been a non-violent, attempted coup d’état, though the human costs have been tremendous for the people working with Trump.

And is it really thin skin to fight the evil using any language necessary to stop a corrupted media working on behalf of democrats like Adam Schiff, using Soviet-style propaganda, repeating the big lie that Trump is working with Putin to steal the next election and betray Americans?  It’s déjà vu all over again.

But there’s still 10 more months to go, and they’ll keep lying and trying.

So @TeamCavuto has very bad ratings on @foxnews with his Fake guests like A.B.Stoddard and others that still haven’t figured it all out. Will he get the same treatment as his friend Shepherd Smith, who also suffered from the ratings drought?

Visited the other site to see what the reaction towards Cavuto would be.
It was like the scene in "1984" where they show the image of Goldstein on a screen and everybody in the room stands up and shrieks angrily and waves their fists at the image.
One poster actually said he'd give up a paycheck to take a swing at Cavuto. All because Cavuto had the effrontery to criticize Trump on a few points. Like honest journalists do.
I'm not a huge Cavuto-show fan, but I do like the guy. He has just made some honest criticisms of a president who is so thin-skinned he can't take anything less than worshipful praise.
And on cue his loyal faithful jump up and threaten Cavuto with physical violence for voicing an opinion.
These rallies show Trump at his worst, demogogic character.

Trump is not my "hero" but at least for now, he is keeping the socialist away and for that I will tolerate most anything until someone better comes along and I refuse to let the self righteous or snowflakes run him out until we can do better.

Put yourself in Trump’s place. Three years you’re having all these great policy outcomes and yet zero positive coverage in the mainstream alphabet media.

(Related example. Melania—an international fashion model in her pre-marriage days—month after month snubbed by the same women’s magazines that featured Michelle on their covers but only on days ending in ‘y’. That’s gotta piss off any husband married to such a lovely and sophisticated lady.)

Except sometimes on Fox news, you get a few positives. But, even there you have to listen to some guy preening and pontificating about calling balls and strikes as if he were reading from some fake-news catechism.

I love Hannity, but I. Just. Can’t. Listen to him 75% of the time. He speaks incomplete sentences in shorthand and constantly interrupts guests. That’s so annoying. But, I still love him. He’s a good conservative ally in our cause.

That's right. I have always liked Cavuto (though I don't watch FOX much anymore)... I have found him to be even-handed and not prone to chasing after shiny things, like so many of the bobble-heads do.
