'Trump has corrupted the Justice Department': Obama ethics director rips Barr intervention in Roger Stone case

Attorney General William Barr is using the Department of Justice to carry out favors for President Trump, according to former President Barack Obama’s director of the Office of Government Ethics.

Walter Shaub, who was the White House’s ethics director during Obama’s last term, criticized Barr for interceding in Roger Stone’s case after Trump called the sentence “disgraceful” and a “miscarriage of justice.”

“A corrupt authoritarian and his henchmen are wielding the Justice Department as a shield for friends and a sword for political rivals,” Shaub tweeted Wednesday morning. “It is impossible to overstate the danger.”
