Clear in the q&a that senators coordinated q's w/ldrs & even counsel on their sides in advance. It's a little like an offensive coordinator pre-scripting the 1st 30 plays of a football game. But questions will likely get more organic as we get deeper into the process

House managers argue Trump's action contravene US foreign policy.  Isn't it the president's place -- certainly more than career civil servants -- to conduct foreign policy?

Very obvious Senate Democrats coordinated with Democrat impeachment managers on what questions would be asked. They have video responses ready to go and their managers are reading from sheets of paper. Remember when the outrage was over McConnell coordinating with the WH?

It is almost certainly the case that Bolton’s manuscript contains material that is (or arguably is) highly classified, and the libs’ urgent need for a Senate trial Hail Mary does not override that national security review process

Very notable that McConnell gave Romney, Collins, and Murkowski the first question, teeing up a response from Trump counsel scripted to allow them to say, "well we won't convict anyhow because Trump had mixed motives–some good, some bad–so we don't need to hear more testimony."

Adam Schiff just argued on the Senate floor that House Democrats can't possibly be expected to prove their case without additional witnesses.

Before, we were told their case was "overwhelming" and "the facts are indisputable."

I asked the President’s counsel: Is the standard for impeachment in the House a lower threshold to meet than the standard for conviction in the Senate, and have the House managers met their evidentiary burden to support a vote of removal?

What Schiff has never explained is why a court fight over a Bolton subpoena would have derailed impeachment. In 74, House Judiciary didn't put impeachment on hold waiting for results of Nixon v USA. They impeached Nixon anyway- and then SC came thru, forcing out crucial evidence
