It looks like AOC has outmaneuvered Speaker Nancy Pelosi

Establishment Democrats took too long to see the writing on the wall.

by Stacey Lennox  January 28, 2020

It seems the corporate and left-wing media is starting to worry about the Democrat Civil War. It is actually pretty funny to see them wringing their hands now, since I have been writing about the crop of Justice Democrats being an obvious challenge to the Democrat establishment since they were elected in November of 2018. It is also part of a longer term strategy articulated by Democrat Socialists of America founder Michael Harrington in 1988. He clearly states he has no intention of starting a new party. Rather the goal was to transform the existing Democrat party.

The modern face of this movement, Alexandria Ocasio Cortez, has recently remarked that she cannot believe she and Joe Biden are members of the same party. She went further to say that it is the moderate and conservative members of the Democrat party that don’t belong. She also put her money where her mouth is and is funding progressive challengers to sitting members of the House rather than paying her dues to the party.

However, the most effective thing AOC and the other members of the Democrats left flank may have done is push impeachment. Ostensibly, they did this to attack Donald Trump. However, I have to wonder if their insistence was not simply another method of taking down the establishment of their own party. And I called it back in September:

Nancy lost control of her party awhile ago.  She knows that the impeachment is a sham but she had to push it through in order to try to remain relevant to those within her own party.  I don't forsee her lasting much longer and I think she will be challenged by someone like AOC.
Romans 12:16-21

Live in harmony with one another; do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly, do not claim to be wiser than you are.  Do not repay anyone evil for evil, but take thought for what is noble in the sight of all.  If it is possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all…do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

AOC would get absolutely crushed if she ran for Speaker, but the whole thing kind of illustrates how completely terrified the Democrats are of their own radicals.  They've spent so long playing the intersectional grievance card that they're powerless if someone plays it against them.  AOC is young and Latina, and so people are reluctant to call her out.

You may very well be right @libertybele . But I don't count Nan out just yet. She is a barracuda and AOC just ain't that smart...yet
.  No one could make me root for Nan more than AOC can. Sad sate of affairs. She won't last because of health, age and the change of the ideology.

There isn't any space between them on ideology, they all want the same thing. The difference is that the establishment party has spent decades fabricating a facade of moderation to remain acceptable to traditional dem voters, stay in power, and put the python-squeeze on the country one step at a time, under the radar, all the while enjoying and cashing in on the fruits of power. As new "rising star" dems come along, like 0bama, they're expected to be welcomed into the club and play by the rules that are making them all rich. The radicals think that's taking too long and so have torn down the facade to proudly and loudly proclaim what the party has really been all about all along.
