Wish we made this big a fuss when one of our military is killed....
Let's face it: people recognize Kobe's name. We don't televise war games live, and for good reason. You show a random headshot of one of our soldiers, and people would say "Who?" But when one does die, we honor them and mourn them. We have a whole holiday devoted to it.
But Kobe was a star. People know who he is, and he died young. That's why there's all the hullabaloo.
Me? I'm holding my tongue because I have some not-so-nice things I would like to say about him that are not appropriate for a public venue. But this is not a contest, and it's rude to try and use our soldiers like this.
