Kobe Bryant 'dies in Calabasas helicopter crash'

Kobe Bryant was reportedly killed in a helicopter crash in Calabasas, California, on Sunday morning.

The 41-year-old former Los Angeles Lakers basketball star's death was confirmed by TMZ.

The outlet reported that Bryant was traveling with four other people in his private helicopter when it crashed, killing everyone on board.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.

I've heard that it was his own privately owned helicopter.

His estate will be targeted if there are any other 'Big' names among the dead.

Just read that his eldest daughter, 13, was also among the dead.

Let's face it: people recognize Kobe's name. We don't televise war games live, and for good reason. You show a random headshot of one of our soldiers, and people would say "Who?" But when one does die, we honor them and mourn them. We have a whole holiday devoted to it.

But Kobe was a star. People know who he is, and he died young. That's why there's all the hullabaloo.

Me? I'm holding my tongue because I have some not-so-nice things I would like to say about him that are not appropriate for a public venue. But this is not a contest, and it's rude to try and use our soldiers like this.

Bryant is survived by Vanessa, 37, and their daughters Natalia, 17, Bianka, 3, and Capri, 7 months.

This may change as some news outlets saying his other daughters were on board...
