Trump's troubles won't end with a Senate acquittal
By Albert Hunt, opinion contributor — 01/26/20 11:00 AM EST

The Senate impeachment trial of Donald Trump will be resolved in the next week or so; the president will claim vindication and that it's all over.

He's only half right.

He will be officially acquitted on a largely partisan vote, but the issue and investigations of Trump’s misconduct won't be over. There will be more House inquiries into new revelations on the Trump-Ukraine scandal, perhaps even the Mueller special counsel probe, the president's potential financial conflicts of interest — and likely new lawsuits.

What the Senate does — or doesn't do — in the days ahead will shape these events. If the Republicans are seen just trying to protect Trump, it won't change the outcome but will ease the case for more wide-ranging subsequent investigations.

Is that anything like a bipartisan vote?

And this president will commit more controversial acts.

The House soon to be delivered "slap in the face" by the Senate is going to deal Pelosi, schumer, schiff et al a tremendous political blow.  I would be surprised if they hold their positions.

So the harassment, sedition, treachery and high treason will continue even after Trump is acquitted.

Gee....that's surprising.

I cannot believe enough American voters are impressed with what the rats have done these past two years to reward them with majority status in either chamber, but I don't recognize much of what passes for the American Character lately.

The Dems have promised to continue their shamvestigation fishing expeditions. They seem to forget that US voters can shut them down, and I think the current fiasco is making that likely.
If, as anti-Covid-vaxxers claim, https://www.poynter.org/fact-checking/2021/robert-f-kennedy-jr-said-the-covid-19-vaccine-is-the-deadliest-vaccine-ever-made-thats-not-true/ , https://gospelnewsnetwork.org/2021/11/23/covid-shots-are-the-deadliest-vaccines-in-medical-history/ , The Vaccine is deadly, where in the US have Pfizer and Moderna hidden the millions of bodies of those who died of "vaccine injury"? Is reality a Big Pharma Shill?

Millions now living should have died. Anti-Covid-Vaxxer ghouls hardest hit.

The only way to shut them down (not shut them up, for they will go on and on and on, might as well gird our loins for that reality..lolol) is to vote them the hell out of majority power this November.

I wonder why they didn't bother to mention that Trump was impeached by an entirely partisan vote, could it be media bias?

Corruption charges just might slow down the picking on of our President.
Just ask the thugs where they got all of that money.

Bullshit.

End this by proving what it is: a partisan and malicious impeachment.  No more witnesses.  Acquit the President by Saturday.

Open a special counsel investigation into the origins of this "scheme" and drag Pelosi, Schiff, "the whistleblower" and accomplices kicking and screaming to a Bible and put these traitorous shits under oath. Question them until their eyes bleed.  Do it live and broadcast it to the world.

You've shot your wad, Mr. Hunt.  We'll take it from here.

What makes you think that the Democrats care about the voters? They have never accepted the results of the last election - because the Republican won.

And now they are pursuing a multi-pronged strategy which includes trying to override the Electoral College by means of a state legislature-led end run around the Constitution. If that fails, they will insist on the illegitimacy of a Trump victory in 2020, while continuing to pursue grounds for impeachment, even after the current attempt falls short. If Republicans take the House and retain control of the Senate, look forward to endless legal challenges, promoted by Democrat state attorneys general, and funded by Democrat billionaires.

If you haven't figured this out yet (though I suspect you have): the Left never stops in its pursuit of power.

Republicans crave normalcy, in process, procedure and rules of governance, because they are normal. The Progressive Left is possessed of no such interest, and never has been.
"The most terrifying force of death, comes from the hands of Men who wanted to be left Alone. They try, so very hard, to mind their own business and provide for themselves and those they love. They resist every impulse to fight back, knowing the forced and permanent change of life that will come from it. They know, that the moment they fight back, their lives as they have lived them, are over. -Alexander Solzhenitsyn

Andy observed (wisely):
"If you haven't figured this out yet (though I suspect you have): the Left never stops in its pursuit of power."

Well, if that's true (of course it is), then there's only one way to "stop" the left.

Can't say that outloud here, except for the old saw:
