U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz is working overtime to defend President Donald Trump as House Democrats present their impeachment case to the Senate.

Cruz is putting out a daily impeachment podcast that he records every night after the Senate impeachment trial lets out. He taped the first episode at 2:45 a.m.

The title is “VERDICT” — and the Texas Republican has been clear what he believes the verdict will be.

“At the end of this process, after a fair trial, the president will be acquitted,” Cruz said in a video he posted to Twitter last week while he was on his way to be sworn in for Senate trial. He called it “the beginning of the end of the abuse of the Constitution.”

“You want talk about something to terrify 47 Democrats in the Senate. It is the fact that the Senate could grant Hunter Biden immunity and hear his testimony and hear about whether or not there was corruption from Joe Biden,” Cruz said. “This is not about (Hunter Biden.) This is a question about whether his dad abused his power.”
