I hope not.  Definitely sitting more than usual.  Getting my walks in though.  We're not under lockdown, but I fit into the high risk category so staying at home for the most part.

Maybe I should print the pic -- it will remind me to get up and move more!
I think I'll put that on  the fridge....

Seventeen Techniques for Truth Suppression

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

Please stop the slander.

Please.

I second that.  Nerves are frayed from the non-stop ocean of slime coming out of our TeeVees, so stop accusing people of being driven by panic.  If they were, they would not be on this forum.

Remember, one person's "hype" is another person's "concern."  Accusing worried people of hysteria adds nothing to the conversation and if the goal is to calm people down, that ain't cutting it.

I'm not gonna list names, y'all know who I'm talking to.  Don't make us lock Tom's very important news feed.

The thing is, I am staying at home calm as I can be (other than grave concern that my d-i-l, a nurse, is on the front lines of battle), and have posted facts and information I am learning from calm, intelligent medical leaders.

I am taking this health threat seriously, and urging others to do the same.

And I do not want to be lied about any more.

That's where we are.  We're fine, can afford everything we need to hunker down and have plenty of TP.  I'm worried about the others.  I mentioned somewhere we have a total population of about 35K, and 8K work across the river at the Nevada casinos and hotels.  They were all thrown out of work a few days ago when the Governor of that state ordered all Casinos and Restaurants closed, which also closed the Hotels.

I don't want a damned thing from Uncle Sugar.  Don't send me cash because I paid taxes in 2018, and don't throw $200 on my SS bennies like Pelosi's pushing.  Help those other people first.

Claim they're going shopping: Border officials allow hundreds of Mexican vehicles to cross despite Trump ban
https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/news/claim-theyre-going-shopping-border-officials-allow-hundreds-of-mexican-vehicles-to-cross-despite-trump-ban

This is the deal, one can break these bans effectively by just claiming you are going shopping, it be in town, city or on the border.

What kind of shopping?  In my state the stores, other than grocery stores, are closed.  There's no place to shop.

The idea of giving out checks is HORRIBLE.

In Ohio, they are working hard to help those out of work with accelerated unemployment checks and delays in utility payments, etc.

Giving checks to everyone regardless of circumstances is just a wretched idea!

When I used to go to the border towns, most Mexicans I saw coming to the US were hitting the grocery stores.

Still need to be stopped at the border.

The idea, as poorly thought out as it is, is to throw money all around in hopes that we'll spend money we otherwise would not, and that would have zero effect on the sectors that are hurting (especially if I'm not even allowed to do the things that would help).

Agreed.  We can't properly screen them to make sure they aren't walking in a dreaded disease.

Yes ... on the other hand, just the other day, we had one of the highest employment rates in history and then all of a sudden ... poof...these people are unemployed; massive unemployment.  People still somehow have to put food in their bellies, pay their rent or mortgage, utilities, insurance, etc.  With this amount of people out of work, I imagine that first unemployment check is going to take awhile.  Many people live paycheck to paycheck, what do they do in the meantime?  Friends, family and neighbors are hurting to ... and then there's the mandated shutdown for some and social distancing.
Romans 12:16-21

Live in harmony with one another; do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly, do not claim to be wiser than you are.  Do not repay anyone evil for evil, but take thought for what is noble in the sight of all.  If it is possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all…do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

A culture shock is underway, and that's the stuff that keeps people awake at night.  I tell ya, I'd be really upset if I was still working.  We're set, but I worry about the others.

On top of that, I have to watch the DeeCee bastards even closer than before because I know how they feel about crises.  They're opportunities to further restrict our freedom and our way of life.

On TBR?  I don't see it.  Usually threads get locked because we're overwhelmed by personal attacks and such.  We don't like doing it but sometimes it's the only way to get people to cool off, and then we unlock them.

ETA:  If you know where it is, please let me know to see if I should unlock it.

I currently have a vacation planned for the area in two weeks.  Not gambling, but I was flying into LAS and then trekking out from there into Utah and AZ.  But with everything closed in LV, I am guessing that this is no longer an option.  What is the word on the street?  Is it still worth chancing, or should I go to Hawaii instead?
