Some people are just not quite right in the head.
I mean who didn't see that coming?
In a few weeks there will be a nationwide glut of toilet paper in all the stores, on the street, and with all the charities.
You cannot "COEXIST" with people who want to kill you.
If they kill their own with no conscience, there is nothing to stop them from killing you.

Trees will be adorned this spring...

I am concerned for my grandson who is looking forward to his job sealing highway cracks picking back up as the weather warms. That white strip laid on top of the tar? Yep. Toilet paper...

Nevada's governor orders all non-essential business to close

Days after Nevada Gov. Steve Sisolak shut down gambling in the state and asked non-essential businesses to close, he turned that into an order aimed at slowing the spread of the coronavirus.

"Previously, I asked nonessential businesses to close, but this moment now demands more,” Sisolak said in a statement Friday. "Today, I directed ALL nonessential businesses to close. I repeat. If you are NOT an essential business, I am using my power as Governor under an emergency declaration to order you to close."

The governor on Tuesday ordered that all gaming machines, table games and other related equipment to close. He said non-essential businesses should close. He said this week that grocery stores, banks, pharmacies, hardware stores, gas stations and similar services would remain open.

The order lasts until April 16.

Christian Siriano making face masks for medical workers battling coronavirus
By Carlos Greer
March 20, 2020 | 1:50pm

Christian Siriano has stepped up to provide face masks to medical workers fighting coronavirus, after Governor Andrew Cuomo offered funding to businesses who can help out with the low supply.

“If @NYGovCuomo says we need masks my team will help make some. I have a full sewing team still on staff working from home that can help,” Siriano tweeted on Friday.  ...
NY Post.

Seriously, some hospitals are welcoming homemade masks. After all, they used to use cloth facemasks and just wash them after use. If you can sew, get to work!   Here's a pattern.

If nothing else, the homemade masks may be used by non-medical personnel, freeing up the commercially made ones for doctors, nurses, et al.

Seriously. I have done cabinetry work in Jackson's Hole, Whyowing that are Jack and Jill's with some high dollar imported European "smoked" plywood with the cost of the product scary enough you don't even want to touch the shit. And there are all these smart devices to hide, show, and parade. We did one that was a three-story tenement with the closets/bathrooms  upstairs. All done by designers. I happened to be one of the first out when the actual owners showed. How to say this politely? The woman says I ain't climbing no uh stairs to pee.

Can't say I could blame her. Didn't bother me to piss out any window.

Ready, but no patients yet.

That’s what hospitals do.  Prepare.

Ohio hospitals are contacting hotels and nursing homes to use as wings to transfer non - contagious patients to in order to make room in case there are large numbers of contagious patients.

Elective surgeries are being postponed to keep medical staffs available.

There are already cluster cases in nursing homes where medical personnel are strained and at risk.

The Ohio National Guard is available to set up tents for triage.

That’s because the medical community is smart enough to take this pandemic seriously.

They aren’t just sitting at home pretending it isn’t happening.  They’re on the front lines of this unprecedented (in our lifetimes) battle, which is still getting worse and a long time from getting better.

I thank God that the people who count (scientists, the medical community) are taking this pandemic seriously.
Character still matters.  It always matters.

Absolutely: the more we can expand capacity (and develop/approve treatments), the less the curve has to be "flattened" and the shorter this epidemic will end up.

Let's hope and pray that we see some results by Easter. I'm hoping even more that we see the social distancing measures that began last week start to show up and new cases start to plateau in the next few days.

Be patient.

haha

In the worldview.

Be positive, the communists will surely kill at least twice as many people as the last century . Statistically. hahaha

2193 people died of corona in China. But 4,878,313 died of old age. They were sick anyway. 5,712,435 died of malnutrition. And 4,543,936 died of dishysteria.

I think the states who were ahead of the curve in putting restrictions in place more than a week ago will have the curve flatten earlier.

When I see the enormous upswing of cases in New York and particularly NYC where “leaders” ignored the threat I am more concerned that the worst of this will be prolonged.

I feel like NYC will end up being another Wuhan. There will be hotspots that will go on for months, unless the weather/UV issue indeed works and/or we get treatments approved that substantially shorten hospital stays. But the rest of the country will eventually have to get back to work.

I'll note that, other than a few troublemakers, New Yorkers have been particularly urgent and cooperative in regard to doing what it takes to quash this bug. You see the empty subways and Times Square pics. So that plays into our benefit.

Being in a state and city led by two Italians doesn't play to our benefit.
