@Cyber Liberty
Sounds like a Governor who cares about the people in the state more than tourism dollars right now.  Good to see your Governor is respecting President Trump's excellent 15 day guidelines.  You must be proud of him or her.

He's not my Governor, I live in AZ just across the river from NV.  My Governor has a slightly more level head.  I'm just amazed a Governor would close all the casinos in NV.  It takes a DemoRat.  Well, anything in service to getting rid of the hated Trump. wink777

I wonder if they think they're going to be reimbursed by the federal government based on the number of disasters they proclaim? I really hope they aren't right...

I was beginning to think that perhaps Cuomo was raising his public profile with a mind to national office for himself in the near future but I guess not.

   If they shut the Brothels down I'm cancelling my drive up that way.

Nevada Brothels Stay Open With Promises to Increase Hand-Washing

By Kelly Gilblom

March 17, 2020, 12:23 PM CDT

The coronavirus may have stopped most of American life, but one pastime promises to persist. Nevada’s legal brothels say they are there for it.

The largest houses say they are still open, though they are taking precautions. For example, Chicken Ranch, in Pahrump said it will require brothel workers and staff to “wash their hands regularly and use hand sanitizers as needed,” according to a letter from its general manager. It’s also having staff take their temperatures daily.

From my twitter feed and the guy is right as rain!  The left is pulling out ALL the stops to prevent the re-election of Donald J. Trump.

Brilliant. You should send that to Senator Cruz.

   Just a reminder:

   Everyone seems to be on Edge, and rightly so.
   I get it, Conservatives are generally controlled, methodical people and something beyond their control wrecks havoc in their daily lives, realizing again that hope of any Fiscal Restraint by our Gov in this 'crisis' is depressing enough without us going at each other's throat.

@Lando Lincoln that is good to know. You like are acquainted with a few people named Throlson in that case.

@Bigun

I know of the Thoraldson family.  They are the richest family in ND.  Gary Thoraldson is the richest individual in the state.  Originally from Dazey.  Owns just about everything as I understand, including a couple hotels in Devils Lake.

That is not how my friend spelled his last name @Lando Lincoln but there may well be a connection.  These folks were all living around the little towns of Sheyenne and New Rockford at the time I was up there.

Well, that came after the posts talking about money and salaries, I did not care to say that directly to anyone.

BUT, while we are here, workers are being asked in many cases to stay home, are they to totally forego salaries? As many are talking about the stipends workers may get in the future soon.

Harris Faulkner's show is real good, a caller asked if mosquitoes might infect people,  for the most part, no... the answer was a bit more involved for when summer comes.

Also, they were talking about smoking and vaping too, as far as cases among young people, smoking and vaping may be more problematic and plenty of young people are coming down with this and have to have urgent care.

Good show on Fox... I guess, it must be close to 24/7 corona now.... She's a good reporter and anchor.

US coronavirus coordinator: Number of COVID-19 cases will 'dramatically increase' in next few days
by Zachary Halaschak
March 18, 2020 01:22 PM

A top doctor assisting the U.S. response to the coronavirus pandemic said there will be a large spike in confirmed coronavirus cases in the next few days as testing becomes more readily available.

Deborah Birx, the response coordinator for the White House Coronavirus Task Force, discussed “the curve” during Wednesday's briefing, referring to the number of confirmed cases as they would appear on a graph.

She also warned against panicking about the dramatic increase, noting the curve will stabilize after an initial influx of cases resulting from the increased testing rates.

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

See, I'm a bit concerned about it going airborne, that would seem to mean that carpooling or even just sharing a car ride with someone could present problems.

I've already taken precautions that if I'm in a car with someone, for the time being, the windows remain open to reduce the risk of infection. That's what this whole social distancing thing is all about.

That's very helpful, thanks. Sometimes I will ride with a smoker, he's never coughed or sneezed in the car ever from what I remember but I've heard him before outside with a bit of a "smokers hack" and in times like this, it can be a concern. Otherwise, I have nothing against smoking.

In the end,  I think everyone coughs some or nearly all.
