Tastes just like milk.  But I only use it for cereal or making pancakes.

OK.  Thanks.  We just use it for cereal too.  That's good to know.

Parroting a misrepresenation of what he said? Hey, it's twitter and we post tweets.

So you have no problem with the fact that the tweet omitted the remainder of Trump's statement, and in doing so completely misrepresented what Trump said?

Trump's response was 100% correct.  But no one here would know that from your deceptive post.

More insults, more browbeating.

Again, you seemed to imply Trump is not even conservative and you have said you didn't vote for him.  So, who are you to tell others? This is bullying.

What is the full context of his speech?  There's not enough room in a tweet. Just because you accuse others of deception doesn't mean it's so, it's the way the world works and I didn't see where the former law clerk for William Rehnquist and Bush appointee said something deceptive.

Like I said, a logistics problem.

And that is the real problem with something like this. Especially if the govt locks things down for a couple of weeks.

I hate the panic buying, but I understand it. If jurisdictions go full China on this and you have to stay-in-place for awhile, you need supplies.

Like water, toilet paper, cleaning supplies - all the stuff that is disappearing off the shelves.
The Republic is lost.

Someone who has spoken against Trump, said he voted 3rd party and not for Trump is now upset that a tweet by an experienced diplomat was posted and calling it a misrepresentation and some how taking it out of context? I don't buy it. And that's also with what would seem to be implied in the past, that one did not think Trump was conservative.

What is the exact quote taken out of context?

You posted this part:  “Respirators, ventilators, all of the equipment — try getting it yourselves”
But you omitted this part:  “We will be backing you, but try getting it yourselves.  Point of sales, much better, much more direct if you can get it yourself.”

Here again is your statement.

Is this a bad response?

Brett McGurk retweeted this.

I do agee, this isn't the right answer.

You were repeating a tweet from a NYTimes reporter making the case that the heartless bastard Trump was telling States that they were SOL.  But that is not at all what Trump said.  You expressed your agreement that Trump's answer was not the right answer.  You accepted the words of a left-wing journalist without investigating to find out what Trump really said.

No, no, no... You go find a farmer with a milk cow, buy raw milk from him and skim off the cream...

I am reasonably set up, of course, but went out today to stock up, and am leaving again right now... It's crazy man. Just plain crazy. It almost ain't worth the couple hundred dollars worth I'd like to get in... t least that's true now that I have coffee.

But i just got notice that I can't pay my electric bill - the place is closed down, and my only options are electronic... which I don't do. Looks like they get to wait.

I got a notice a day or two ago from SRP the electric power company here in Mesa AZ that said they will not turn the power off for unpaid bills and will not charge late fees for unpaid bills until further notice.

That was a bit of a WOW.

No, it isn't, not in one bit. The president is not a God, it be Bush or whomever is president, there is nothing wrong with showing something that happened at a press conference.  I mean, what is ironic is you said you are cynical about the sickness in the other thread a short time ago.

Now, we have this, one posts something by Brett McGurk who by the way, was not fired by Trump but resigned and now, posting something he commented on is out of bounds? Unbelievable.

Yes, it has. They've shut down most non-essential businesses here today. Hopefully there aren't any more drastic measures that need to be taken. They're tightening up on us like a vise.

We've pretty much closed the borders and cut off most congregation points—if this doesn't slow down the spread to something manageable, we're in trouble. I have hope it will help.

Most of us here can filter through this stuff pretty well. TomSea posts A LOT of information quickly so I can understand not having the complete story when posted every time. It is also our job is to fill in the blanks, which you in particular do a very good job of.

Peace to both of you.

Since you brought that up........  how does it do when you thaw it out?  I remember that my Mom used to freeze milk, but I don't remember how it tasted after she got it out..

Milk freezes just fine, I used to do it it all the time.

A journalist said the words "wow" and that's some great sin??

And you called her a leftwing journalist. I do read Brett McGurk's words, law clerk for William Rehnquist Bush appointee, worked for 3 administrations, maybe straight through.

So,  you are the one who is using a deceptive argument now.

Now, this has to be called a falsehood, I did not omit anything from the tweet, I was on the I-phone, maybe the NY Times article didn't get directly linked but that was contained in the tweet address.

So, that was there.  That is false to put it mildly,  the tweet does not include that technically. You try to accuse others of being deceptive, your argument is being deceptive.

That's the full tweet. I do not see where it includes the "We will be backing you" bit.

But does the "we will be backing you" even matter? Does it change things substantially? What does that mean?  The articles say it took the governors back.

We use twitter here, perhaps if you object to it, you could start a petition for us to stop using it if you think there is something wrong with it.

And besides, this is cherry picking, I back Trump frequently daily here, for someone to push that idea. I didn't realize we were suppose to be close-minded to all.

Lastly, Julie Bosman, NY Times, "left NY Times reporter", another empty accusation.  I had maybe heard of her, are there some articles one can point to that have this left wing slant and by the way, more name calling.

Quote

Oh, yeah, she covers the Midwest, really can let go of her left wing ideas.... any examples on what she has written for the times??

This is the editorial board that largely comes up with views. That doesn't mean every reporter is that way.

This took more time to straighten out then the time it takes to write a post.

Cusswords too, I'm done here, you don't have a point.

Well, it seems you are almost not even believing the coronavirus danger is real from some of what you were saying earlier, that would have one doubting the credibility of Ted Cruz who is still self-quarantining.  Of the President, so that is taking a counter position in itself to those I guess, we are suppose to follow blindly.

Methinks you are reading something that I didn't say into what I actually said.   The danger of infection is real.  It is highly contageous, as it was designed to be (a bio weapon).   But so far, the mortality rate here in the US does NOT warrant the hysteria we're seeing, hyped up by the idiot left media.

As for those that have been exposed to someone with the virus, they damned sure better self-quarantine.   It's just common sense (better safe than sorry).

But now, Cruz self-quarantining himself is just using common sense.

I wish you all would post the reachings of the left-wing media on this issue because we haven't really seen that here, we've seen articles that are portraying what's going on.

We don't want to have a nightmare like Italy, China or Iran. It may be so serious, we're being very optimistic if we think things change soon. It's scary.

I thought Ted Cruz had penned an editorial for the NY Times or Washington Post, rightfully called left-wing.. .often but it doesn't mean everything they publish is bad. I couldn't find what I thought Cruz wrote  for them but I did find an editorial written by Tom Cotton for the NY Times:

Quote
Opinion
Tom Cotton: We Should Buy Greenland
Trump isn’t the only one to recognize the country’s strategic importance. Beijing does, too.

Mr. Cotton, a Republican, is a United States senator from Arkansas.

More: https://www.nytimes.com/2019/08/26/opinion/politics/greenland-trump.html

Good luck in calling everyone who writes for the NY Times a lefty. Pretty shallow.
