Bernie Sanders has denounced Super PACs, but he’s been supported by a dark money group since launching his presidential campaign in February.

Sanders founded Our Revolution in 2016, and the group is now leveraging its resources to do the “deep organizing necessary to elect President Bernie Sanders.”

Sanders praised Our Revolution during an internal conference call in September for “doing some of the most important work that can be done in our country.”

One campaign finance expert believes Our Revolution’s efforts to get Sanders elected could be violating federal campaign finance laws.

Interesting Our Revolution email to potential donors, cited in the article:

We met in union halls, and the industrial workers who filled those halls to volunteer clearly do not believe that any old Democrat will do.

With so much at stake in 2020, we can’t afford to lose to Trump by nominating another failed Democratic centrist like Joe Biden or Pete Buttigieg. That’s why we are asking you to click here and donate whatever you can afford to help us win Iowa and catapult Bernie Sanders to the Democratic nomination!

Sanders’s wife, Jane Sanders, is also linked to Our Revolution. She was listed as a director of the group when it was initially founded in July 2016, according to incorporation records obtained by the Daily Caller News Foundation. Jane Sanders stepped down from her role as Our Revolution’s chairwoman in August that year amid internal turmoil over the group’s structure as a dark money entity, ABC News reported.
