FX to delay Clinton impeachment focused 'American Crime Story' until after 2020 electionThe third season of FX's “American Crime Story†focusing on the 1998 impeachment of then-President Clinton will not air until after the 2020 election, FX president John Landgraf said on Thursday, citing difficult work schedules.
The series following the Clinton scandal regarding his Oval Office affair with then-intern Monica Lewinsky that ultimately led to his impeachment on charges of perjury and obstruction of justice was originally set to air in September but has been delayed until after the Nov. 3 presidential election due to what the network says is creator Ryan Murphy's busy schedule.
“I don’t think that’s reasonable, frankly given that it won't finish production until October,†Landgraf told reporters during the Television Critics Association media tour. “I don’t think we’ll make it by September.â€
Murphy is currently working on "Prom" starring Oscar winners Nicole Kidman and Meryl Streep.
In August, Landgraf dismissed talk of the Clinton impeachment series, which is based on author and current CNN legal analyst Jeffrey Toobin's 1999 book "A Vast Conspiracy: The Real Story of the Sex Scandal That Nearly Brought Down a President," influencing the 2020 presidential election................
