"Pasdaran" per the article means the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps, impress people by tossing that into the conversation! But to the topic, we knew they were in Venezuela but it goes on to mention Nicaragua and more.

What Does Soleimani’s Death Mean for the American Continent?
By Mamela Fiallo Flor

Soleimani's death is significant for many countries and governments that collaborated with Iran's Pasdaran (Revolutionary Guard) in their illicit activities

The news shook the world: General Qasem Soleimani of Iran was killed as per the order of the President of the United States, Donald Trump, in response to the attack on the American embassy in Iraq by a pro-Iran mob.

Although the incident took place on another continent, fears are growing that the war will escalate worldwide as Iran’s spiritual leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, called for “severe revenge” for Soleimani’s death.

Given that Iran has been part of the alliance that collaborates with the regime of Nicolas Maduro in Venezuela, with Daniel Ortega in Nicaragua, and through a technological partnership, with Evo Morales when he was President of Bolivia, the impact of this death could have consequences on the American continent.

Yes, this is on Soleimani but is a bit different in highlighting the connections to Latin America.

A few fewer bombings, would be nice. Anything that impedes the works of totalitarian regimes on our doorstep, or their terrorist proxies, or even their influences on governments in this hemisphere is just fine by me.

Kennedy had his moment with the blockade, the Cuban Missile Crisis, but went soft on the Bay of Pigs invasion and didn't eliminate the threat. As a result, Cubans have been so severely oppressed for decades, they've done everything from paddle inner tubes to drive modified trucks across to Florida. Think of the murder and misery that could have been stopped with a few airstrikes.

It is that lack of will to stand our ground, at the highest levels, that has enabled and even encouraged the Hugo Chavez and other type who have made what should be prosperous countries into communist sh*tholes that people legitimately flee, and that pump those ranks full of covert operatives to come here for the final assault on the US.

I'm no Trump lover, but in this he has opened the door to the end of this crap, not just here but abroad, especially abroad, where the influence of people like Soleimani has already been felt.

I noticed WIkipedia has already (if they hadn't prior) sanitized the effects Soleimani had on SOuth American and India, so here is a reference which might open some eyes into just how far his influence reached. https://smallwarsjournal.com/jrnl/art/a-review-of-iran%E2%80%99s-revolutionary-guards-and-qods-force-growing-global-presence-links-to-car

and https://smallwarsjournal.com/jrnl/art/irans-expanding-footprint-in-latin-america

Keep in mind, also, that under Soleimani, Quds forces bolstered Hizb'allah (commonly spelled Hezbollah) in their efforts as a terrorist organization, not only in the Middle East, but sponsored terror worldwide.

In South America, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AMIA_bombing
https://www.jewishvirtuallibrary.org/terrorist-bombings-in-argentina

And the diabolical embassy bombings in Kenya and Tanzania https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1998_United_States_embassy_bombings

Even WaPo admitted that his influence was felt by Americans https://www.washingtonpost.com/national-security/2020/01/03/soleimanis-legacy-gruesome-high-tech-ieds-that-haunted-us-troops-iraq/

Now, (and unsurprisingly, considering the anti Trump stance of the media, print and electronic) it's getting harder to find references that were readily available just a couple of days ago to Soleimani's involvement in bombings from Buenos Aries to Mumbai, and the actions in Venezuela and Lebanon. If it can't be spun to make Trump look bad, it doesn't seem to be easy to find on the web any more.

But if nothing else, the Judge Roy Bean defense applies. It was something which should have been done long ago.
Untold murder, maiming, and mutilation of civilians and combatants could have been avoided.

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.
