US Starts Troops Pullout Amid Iran's 'Tough Revenge' Warnings
 

TEHRAN (FNA)- The United States has started retreating troops from the region on Sunday after Iran warned of painstaking retaliation for the assassination of its top general, and despite President Donald Trump's bombastic remarks that it would bomb 52 Iranian sites if Tehran embarks on threats.

Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Qods Force Commander Lieutenant General Qassem Soleimani, Deputy Commander of Iraq's Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF), or Hashad al-Shabi, Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, and several others were martyred in a targeted assassination raid by US aircraft in Iraq on Friday.

Iranian officials branded Washington assassination operation an “act of international terrorism” and promised retaliation. Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei has stated that the Unites States must await a tough revenge.

On Sunday informed military sources told Press TV that "the US has been pulling out its troops from the region, despite claims to the contrary".

I guess Muslims see movement of personnel as a result of the "tough revenge" warnings when it is more likely movements to strengthen their positions.  I would guess the democrats will pick up the mantra sometime today.

That's kind of the point, though.  It's Iranian propaganda, so that leads to the question of why Iran is telling its people that Iranian threats are successfully forcing us to leave the area?  Seems like the opposite of what you're saying if you want to demonize us, and prepare your people for a big war.  If that was the plan, you'd talk about American arrogance, and how the Americans needed to be punished heavily to change their thinking.

BAGHDAD, Jan 6 (Reuters) - The United States-led military coalition against Islamic State said on Monday that it was pulling out of Iraq and would be repositioning forces over the next few days and weeks, a letter seen by Reuters showed.

"Sir, in deference to the sovereignty of the Republic of Iraq, and as requested by the Iraqi Parliament and the Prime Minister, CJTF-OIR will be repositioning forces over the course of the coming days and weeks to prepare for onward movement," read a letter from United States Marine Corps Brigadier General William H. Seely III, the commanding general of Task Force Iraq.

The authenticity of the letter, which was addressed to the Iraqi defence ministry's Combined Joint Operations Baghdad, was confirmed to Reuters independently by an Iraqi military source.

This appears to be SOP notifying the government of Iraq of any troop repositioning --- and we’re moving some troops out of Baghdad to elsewhere in Iraq.

I personally believe the Iranians will cave and pay him off,while telling their citizens that they cowed him into leaving without destroying everything. Really,what are their other options,pissing him off by daring him to destroy it all? I think we all know how well that would work out for them. They would end up looking weak and powerless to the people they need to keep afraid in order to keep them from overthrowing and executing them. In the Muddle East,it's ALL about Macho,and leaders there can't afford to look weak,or be seen as losing. Politicians in the US that look weak find themselves out of power and out of office. Muslim leaders that look weak end up finding themselves being execute in a public square.

And they literally can do nothing to stop him from destroying everything the US built there. Their best bet is to bribe the Dims into stopping him with some sort of court order,but I think by now we all know Trump would just go ahead and do it anyhow.

He is going to end up recovering tens of millions of dollars for the US treasury,as well as ending the welfare payments to Islam,causing Dim heads to explode all over the nation.

Win/win is the way I see it.
