One of the indisputable truths that life has taught me is "That if something CAN happen,it WILL happen unless you take steps to prevent it because there are more people wiling to tear down than there are people willing to build,be it structures,infrastructures,or life itself."
I admit to being a tad cynical,and see it as a GOOD thing. I may get pissed,but I am rarely surprised or shocked.

Murphy was an optimist, imho, who said "
ANYthing that can go wrong, will, at the worst possible moment."
It's really "
EVERYthing...", simultaneously, of course, in a cascade of events started by something ridiculously minor.
(For want of a nail, the shoe was lost...etc. )
There are entire neighborhoods awaiting being rebuilt in cities across the US, leftovers from the destruction and ensuing malaise of those riots 50+ years ago. It's easier to pull bricks down than stack them, gravity works in your favor.
And yes, it CAN happen here, wherever 'here' is.
