Waste of time and money. Mass is never going to execute him anyway.

Hell,give it a few more years and they might make him the Governor of Mass.

Tsarnaev deserves to be in a room watching 24x7 videos of Boston finishers of the years since he did his bombing, and at the end of that week watch and wait for 12-24 hours to be executed by a nail-filled pressure-cooker bomb. Shown the futility of his act and then 12-24 hours of suspense, anticipating his own painful death.

Obviously that would not be constitutional, but it's what he deserves.

I'm not sure who "they" were, but McVeigh was convicted and sentenced in June, 1997, and executed in June, 2001 after McVeigh dropped his appeals at the end of 2000. I don't see a great deal of haste in that. But for McVeigh dropping his appeals, he probably could have delayed his execution another 5 or 10 or ?? years.

McVeigh was a different deal. They wanted him to plead guilty quickly for reasons we could only speculate about,so the feds held the life of his sister over his head. He either plead guilty,or they would indict his sister on capital murder charges,too. They were both poor white trash with no influence and no high-dollar lawyers,so he plead guilty,and AFAIK,never spoke another word about it.

Don't get me wrong. I am convinced he WAS guilty,but there was something or somebody the feds wanted to cover for so they wanted that shut down QUICK.
