Harvard Law professor Alan Dershowitz said the next Democratic president will be impeached, thanks to the dangerous and reckless precedent the Democratic Party is setting with its sham impeachment.

Dershowitz — a lifelong liberal who voted for Hillary Clinton in 2016 — is a nationally recognized expert on U.S. Constitutional Law. He says it’s unconstitutional to impeach Trump based on the dearth of evidence the Democrats have gathered against him.

Accordingly, impeaching Trump right now would set into motion a dangerous slippery slope that will come back to bite the Democrats in the butt the next time a Democrat is elected president.

“They have created open-ended criteria which bear no relationship to the words of the Constitution itself,” Dershowitz told Fox News host Mark Levin. “If President Trump is impeached, it will set a terrible precedent which will weaponize impeachment. So the next Democrat who gets elected will be impeached because [Republicans will] find an ‘abuse of power.’ It’s hard to find any president — modern president, old president — that can’t be accused of abuse of power.”

I doubt it...they had many opportunities to impeach and probably convict Obama.

The unwillingness of the Pubs to respond in kind is why the Rats do these things. They figure there won't be any repercussions.

The only time I can think of when the Pubs responded in kind was with the filibuster for judicial appointments. The Rats ended it for all except the SCOTUS and then were shocked when the Pubs ended it for the SCOTUS.

I think Dershowitz is dreaming.  Next DEM seated will likely also have a full majority in the House and Senate which means no chance of impeachment.  The DEMS now make up their own rules and could care less what is laid our in our Constitution.

This is what terrifies me. When the country is dumb enough to give the Rats control of the govt you can bet all illegals will be made citizens and the process to end the electoral college will begin.

Exactly right. The should terrify everyone. Along with changing the electoral college they will also grant amnesty and the right to vote to ALL illegals of voting age.  When that happens there is no way that the GOP will ever be seated again.  Then we WILL see socialism and the fall of our Republic.

There was a time I thought Clinton was the worst President imaginable.  I was wrong.  I suspect I had and still have a higher opinion of GHWB and Bob Dole than you do.  Clinton deserved to be impeached and removed, but far less than President Trump.  Your intuition sucks @truth_seeker
