Supreme Court leaves in place Kentucky abortion law mandating ultrasounds

The Supreme Court on Monday left in place a Kentucky law, mandating doctors perform ultrasounds and show fetal images to patients before they can perform abortions.

The high court declined, without comment, to hear an appeal brought by the American Civil Liberties Union on behalf of the state's lone abortion clinic.

The Kentucky law, which requires a doctor to describe an ultrasound in detail while a pregnant woman hears the fetal heartbeat, was passed in 2017.

1. The ACLU's argument was a sham. They opposed women having information vital to a major medical decision.

2. An Abortionist/abortuary would already have the equipment required by this law in support of their surgeries, so no new significant burden was imposed on them by this law.

The Supreme Court declined Monday to hear a challenge to a Kentucky law mandating ultrasound counseling prior to abortion procedures.

The rejected appeal allows the state’s law to go into effect.

Civil rights groups had challenged the law, which requires physicians in the state to counsel a patient on ultrasound images including the fetal heartbeat, as a violation of the First Amendment. They argued it violates the patient-doctor relationship.

“By refusing to review the 6th Circuit’s ruling, the Supreme Court has rubber-stamped extreme political interference in the doctor-patient relationship,” said Alexa Kolbi-Molinas, an attorney with the American Civil Liberties Union.

“This law is not only unconstitutional, but as leading medical experts and ethicists explained, deeply unethical. We are extremely disappointed that the Supreme Court will allow this blatant violation of the First Amendment and fundamental medical ethics to stand,” she added.

There are a number of things that, IMO, expose the abortion industry for the ghouls they are:

* Fighting requirements to comply with the safety regs that apply to all outpatient surgery centers;

* Refusing to report cases of statutory rape and incestual rape;

* Fighting requirements that patients be informed before making their decision (e.g. this KY law);

* Selling body parts and tissue from aborted children.

Then there's trophy collectors like Gosnell and that recently deceased abortionist.
