Warren bill would revoke Medals of Honor for Wounded Knee Massacre

By Tal Axelrod - 11/27/19 01:29 PM EST

Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) announced legislation Wednesday that would revoke 20 Medals of Honor that were awarded to soldiers who participated in the 1890 Wounded Knee massacre.

Warren and Sen. Jeff Merkley (D-Ore.) said they will introduce the Senate companion to the Remove the Stain Act. Sens. Kamala D. Harris (D-Calif.), Ron Wyden (D-Ore.), Patrick Leahy (D-Vt.), and Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) are original cosponsors of the bill. Harris and Sanders, like Warren, are 2020 Democratic presidential contenders.

The legislation was first introduced in the House by Reps. Denny Heck (D-Wash.), Paul Cook (R-Calif.) and Deb Haaland  (D-N.M.), one of the two Native American women in Congress.

The massacre took place in 1890 on the Lakota Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota when Army soldiers slaughtered several hundred Lakota Indians, mostly women and children. The Medal of Honor, the country’s highest military honor, is awarded by Congress for “gallantry beyond the call of duty.”

The battle of Wounded Knee permanently ended uprisings by the Sioux which had taken many soldiers lives for years previously.

It was like dropping the bomb on Hiroshima.  Saved many lives although abhorrent in most other respects.

Warren is a revisionist as well as a fake person.

Demonstrating her "solidarity" with the real native Americans that fell at that massacre.
Making her a modern day "solcial justice warrior."

The policies against the Indians, were formed by higher ups in politcal and military leadership.

The individual soldier was doing as he was told.

Those were not the proudest days in American history.  Those plains Indian wars spanned afew decades, and a few states.

Most people today know little of the atrocities, by both sides.

This business of rewriting history, is bulllshit.

Also, what they are not telling you,and what these fools probably don't know anyhow or they wouldn't be exposing themselves like this,is that The Medal of Honor was the equivalent of a Good Conduct Medal back then. One  Drummer Boy got promised a Medal of Honor in the Civil War if he would re-enlist.

It didn't become a big deal until World War 1. Even then some senior officers or asshats with family connections like McArthur gave one to themselves. McArthur wrote himself up for another one during WW-2 for his defense of the Philippines, and was seriously pissed when he didn't get it.

I read 31 books many about the Plains Indians, by Terry C. Johnston.

If the expansionacross the West interests you, I highly recommend this author.
