President Trump spent part of his Saturday getting his annual physical exam at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland.

“Anticipating a very busy 2020, the president is taking advantage of a free weekend here in Washington, D.C., to begin portions of his routine annual physical exam,” White House press secretary Stephanie Grisham said in a statement.

It is Trump’s third medical checkup since entering the White House. He had his last physical in February, after which White House doctor Sean Conley said that Trump, 73, was in “very good health.”

The results of the checkup, however, showed Trump was obese. At 6 feet, 3 inches tall, the president weighed 243 pounds, a 4-pound gain since his first medical exam as president in 2018.

Trump’s dosage of rosuvastatin, a cholesterol-lowering drug, was increased in February.

The results of the physical are in. According to the White House, Trump bench pressed 225 lbs 31 times, ran a 4.37 40 yard dash and had a vertical jump of 42 inches. With his magnificent self.

I find it amusing that every time a president gets a physical, the results are always portrayed in glowing terms.  I get that not much detail should be offered because there is a phobia about any president being described as in less than excellent health.  If this nation's enemies were to believe that the president is ill, this could embolden them. 

But really!  Trump is in very good health?  Given his age, weight and the recent increase in dosage of this statin drug, I'd say he's more like in  fair  to middling health.  And that's not at all unusual for a man in his age bracket.

This is in response to all those rumors that Trump's exam was unexpected and unscheduled, so it must have meant that Trump had a heart attack or some other sudden health episode, necessitating an emergency visit to the hospital:

Dr. Sean P. Conley, physician to the president, used a memo released by the White House late Monday night to refute speculation that Trump had suffered from chest pain or another serious issue that led him to suddenly depart the White House by motorcade on Saturday afternoon.

Conley wrote in the memo to the press secretary, Stephanie Grisham, that Trump was not treated for any urgent issues. He said Trump's visit to the medical center was for a regular check-up and that “scheduling uncertainties“ kept the visit off the record.
