Romans 12:16-21

Live in harmony with one another; do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly, do not claim to be wiser than you are.  Do not repay anyone evil for evil, but take thought for what is noble in the sight of all.  If it is possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all…do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

In light of what's happening in this country -- I thought maybe some would find this refreshing and he sang it beautifully!  (Not an easy song to sing).

A retired Marine no less.  It brings tears to my eyes to hear such passion and a cheer for patriotism and our National Anthem which used to be the norm, instead of seeing athletes taking a kneel and the NFL not televising the playing of the Star Spangled Banner.

What the heck is wrong with people these days @sneakypete ????

If a political party does not have its foundation in the determination to advance a cause that is right and that is moral, then it is not a political party; it is merely a conspiracy to seize power.

-Dwight Eisenhower-

"The [U.S.] Constitution is a limitation on the government, not on private individuals ... it does not prescribe the conduct of private individuals, only the conduct of the government ... it is not a charter for government power, but a charter of the citizen's protection against the government."

Many things, but in MY opinion,a major factor was the end of the draft, and people coming to understand that they PERSONALLY had "no skin in the game". It used to be different when people had to worry about their children getting drafted and going to war.

Really good point and something that I hadn't thought of.

Like 'God of Our Fathers' or 'Battle Hymn of the Republic'

The verses conveniently ignored often turn out to be the important ones.

In honor of Mick Jagger's b'day "Gimme Shelter"    I saw them in concert -- the arena was too large and so the concert was kind of sucky to be honest.
