Republican Louisiana Sen. John Kennedy bashed House Speaker Nancy Pelosi during President Trump’s rally in Louisiana on Wednesday night.

Kennedy touted Trump's economy and criticized Pelosi’s effort to impeach him.

“In three short years, President Trump has doubled the growth in the greatest economy in all of human history. And do you know what our Democratic friends have done for him?” Kennedy asked. “Speaker Nancy Pelosi is trying to impeach him.”

I'd like to ask Senator Kennedy a simple question: what would the GDP growth rate be without that extra trillion from the budget deficit?

IMO the economy would be treading water without it...in the short term. It certainly wouldn't be the greatest economy we've ever seen, according to the Trump camp.

Economic concerns should not weigh on the senator's decision.  This is a recycled argument from 1998.  Kennedy was a Democrat back then, so I bet he agreed with Lanny Davis et al.
