Your Binge-Watching Is Making the Planet Warmer

That's the word from Greenpeace's latest Clicking Clean report, which evaluates the clean energy initiatives of many different internet companies.

While we're used to thinking about our environmental impact in terms of how much trash we throw out, how much we drive, and how much electricity we use in our homes, the report highlights the ways that our internet usage has environmental effects that we never see.

Let's see we're not supposed to eat beef because the cows fart which causes global warming, we're not supposed to grill out because we're polluting the air, now we're not supposed to use our computers or binge watch movies because we're impacting global warming....

So, tonight, I think we're going to grill out some nice juicy steaks and binge watch some movies; might just do the same thing tomorrow night too.  Maybe we should kind of do a block party this weekend so we can get several charcoal grills going at once.

The highs in my part of the country, the upper Midwest, are going to be ten degrees under the average for this time of the year for the next ten days or more.
As your area warms up, could you blow some of the warm air this way. Gigantic fans might work.

I too intend to warm up the planet this weekend by binge watching some favorite old tv shows from my recliner.  Going to be cold here, but I have my tea, snacks and a comfy throw all ready.

When Greenpeace gets rid of their computers, cell phones, and other techno-toys and reverts to using carrier pigeons and organic abacuses, I'll consider taking them seriously ... for a femtosecond ... that's about what they merit ... when I'm in a generous mood ...
