Tulsi Gabbard announces she is not running for re-election to House of Representatives

Tulsi Gabbard announces she is not running for re-election to House of Representatives
By Thomas Lifson

Bad things tend to happen to people who find themselves on Hillary Clinton’s enemies list.  Just days after being attacked by Hillary Clinton for being a favorite of the Russians and for allegedly being “groomed” (by Republicans, her spokesman later claimed she meant) to run as a third-party candidate, Rep. Tulsi Gabbard announced late last night that she will not seek re-election to the House of Representatives, where she has served since winning election there in 2012.

It is an odd coincidence that becoming an official enemy of Hillary Clinton preceded this surprise announcement that offered no new reason for the decision announced on Twitter beyond her desire to serve as president.

It's a baffling decision. I have to think she looks at the dismal state of the dem party and sees an easy path to the top. I can't see her throwing that away (e.g. with a 3rd party run), but how does this improve her prospects?

Maybe she could shake some of those Democratic core beliefs, maybe she has found out, the Democrat party is not for her. I would not say the Republican party is either at this point.  She has been rated as having a 100% rating by NARAL,  a big pro-choice organization. I also saw a chart of all of her pertinent positions.

If the Democrat party is not for her I don't know what is.  She has the same agenda.

Alexander Acosta Labor Secretary resigned under pressure concerning his "sweetheart deal" with Jeffrey Epstein.  He was under consideration for AG after Sessions was removed, but was forced to resign instead.

Tulsi's going to make millions as a "former Presidential candidate". Books, speeches, maybe an "analyst" on a cable news station. She's attractive and outspoken, perfect for cable news shows.

She is a liberal...no doubt on that point. As such, I disagree with her on most issues...some agreement perhaps on the use of our troops abroad.

That said, she is of the "old school" liberal type in which conservatives are her political opponent but not her enemy. She does not view politics as good vs evil and that...in the Dem Left...is apostasy. To the Dem Left ALL Republicans are Nazis, racists, homophobes, old, white and hateful. Tulsi...to her credit, and probably as a result of her military service, understands that such a view is destructive to our Republic.

Its sad that a person who is so clearly a liberal on nearly every issue...is seen as a rightwing Quisling by the radicalized Dem party of today. These people have fallen off the cliff into the valley of nutcake Socialism.

For the record, did one know there are "sects", "minorities" in India who are upset at Tulsi and they have indeed protested her in Texas and California.

U.S. Presidential Candidate Tulsi Gabbard Protested for Ties to India’s RSS Paramilitary

“You side with genocide,” chant protestors after campaign town hall question about RSS
By OFMI -  April 2, 2019

LOS ANGELES, CA, USA—Approximately 25 demonstrators protested against U.S. Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard (D-HI) as she campaigned for president in Los Angeles, CA on March 30.

Waving signs reading “Tulsi, Prince$$ of the R$$” and “Stop Supporting Fascism in India,” the group included Christians, Dalits, and Sikhs. They distributed flyers alleging that Gabbard is “an ally of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). The flyers explained, “The RSS is a paramilitary in India which was founded in 1925 and grew with inspiration from the Nazis and Italian Fascists. They have created affiliated groups all over the world. Today, they rule India through the BJP political party.”

“I came here because I want to preserve American values o freedom and justice,” said local Sikh businessman Harjeet Singh. “Foreign interference in our U.S. elections worries me, especially when it comes from India’s RSS and BJP which are responsible for massacring so many minorities in India.”

OK, 25 people isn't much but they still sent out a message.

Her campaign was or is largely nothing but foreign policy and based on non-interventionism.  I guess, this RSS is considered bad by some groups in India. Of course, Tulsi is not Indian but Samoan in background.  So, I'd thought I'd share, that's kind of interesting.

The Green Party beckons, Major Gabbard.

I hold no animosity towards her. I believe somebody has advised her she can best monetize her future/life/image, following her unsuccessfu run for the demoncart nomination, by finishing her current millitary term, finishing her congress term, and going for the money.

Books, speeches, television appearances, etc.

I read somewhere that Bill Clinton has already made her several offers. One of them was for a job at the "foundation"...

@mystery-ak

Not really. She just doesn't want to get whacked,or have any family members disappear.

Thanks for posting that.  This Gabbard chick is whack.  But, they're working overtime to make her seem reasonable.

They sure are ... and from the R side I'm reading too often how she should switch parties @Cyber Liberty    Ah, thank you but we don't need another Senator MurkowskiCollinsRomney.

I imagine that list of promises is just panders to get on the board, but she would be as messed up as Obastard.
