GOP senator defends whistleblower amid Trump attack
By Jordain Carney - 10/01/19 11:47 AM EDT

Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) defended a whistleblower at the center of the impeachment fight on Tuesday, saying the individual deserves to be "heard out and protected."

“This person appears to have followed the whistleblower protection laws and ought to be heard out and protected. We should always work to respect whistleblowers’ requests for confidentiality," Grassley, who is the chairman of the Senate Whistleblower Protection Caucus, said in a statement.

The GOP senator also knocked "uninformed speculation" about the whistleblower and warned against additional reports about the person's identity after The New York Times reported last week that the individual is a male CIA officer.

Starting to encounter Republicans who wonder if maybe the President should step aside for Pence. They're absolutely in the minority on the GOP side, but there does seem to be a fatigue setting in -- tired of always fighting and always having to defend.

Since when has the GOP been "fighting"?

"Always having to defend"? How long as that been going on?

There is no "fatigue setting in". There're only GOP senators who want a return to the status quo.

Yeah...that's the ticket.   Just give in to the radical leftist traitorous Democrats that are apparently succeeding in wearing down their opposition, the gutless GOP.   That'll work.    9999hair out0000

Didn't the NYT use a 'whistleblower' tactic in the past that turned out to be the Times itself?  If Trump is to be convicted of a crime by an unknown person, let's see who it is.   :yowsa:
