Even the illegals are fleeing California -- and half the state's voters want out, too
By Monica Showalter

California, whose new leftist governor, Gavin Newsom, has big ambitions to be the counter-president for now, and eventually replace President Trump, has this one little problem that always comes of socialist rule:

The locals are fleeing.

And now it turns out half the ones who haven't fled are thinking about it.

That is a big broad brush.

Historically California has had important positives, including weather, scenery, jobs etc.

And  recently too many people, and too high taxes.

Current events often preview what is coming widely to the entire country soon.

Like it or not. Good, bad, ugly.

Moon shots, computers, Rock & country music. Television & films. And far more history than meets the quick glance.

I have concluded one important characteristic of the people:

Risk taking, adventurers. The types not just settling for North America, but rather heading 3.000 hard miles across it.

And coming from other continents, Europe, Americas, Asia. We generally get along.

@truth_seeker, California-bashing is a favorite sport for many on conservative discussion sites. Quite often the bashers display their ignorance, and I've given up on being polite in setting straight such ignorance.

Recent examples I've seen (not necessarily here):

* The idea that the San Andreas Fault runs the full length of the West Coast; in reality, it veers of into the Pacific Ocean at San Francisco;

* Claims that the recent earthquakes near Ridgecrest and Searles Valley are on the San Andreas Fault; in reality they were on a totally different fauls\t system, one that runs along the eastern side of the Sierras;

* The idea that more rural counties, like Kern, Riverside, and San Bernardino Counties are as hoplophobic as SF or Berserkeley.
If, as anti-Covid-vaxxers claim, https://www.poynter.org/fact-checking/2021/robert-f-kennedy-jr-said-the-covid-19-vaccine-is-the-deadliest-vaccine-ever-made-thats-not-true/ , https://gospelnewsnetwork.org/2021/11/23/covid-shots-are-the-deadliest-vaccines-in-medical-history/ , The Vaccine is deadly, where in the US have Pfizer and Moderna hidden the millions of bodies of those who died of "vaccine injury"? Is reality a Big Pharma Shill?

Millions now living should have died. Anti-Covid-Vaxxer ghouls hardest hit.

There are areas in California where the politics are to the right of those in Oklahoma.

Those areas in California are changing.

All one has to do is look at the political bent of retired House Ways and Means Chairman Bill Thomas and who replaced him, Kevin McCarthy.  McCarthy is scoring just a bit better than Nancy Pelosi. https://www.conservativereview.com/scorecard/

I was from one of those places. They are disappearing quickly.

Calif is big. Varied in many ways. Dr. Tim Leary and Reagan both moved there from somewhere else.

OTOH Merle Haggard was born and died in California.

When Johnny Cash made it big he moved his family to Casitas Springs, CA. Ever heard of Folsom Prison, San Quentin?
