‘Impeachment by Friday’: Intelligence Committee Democrat calls for immediate action against Trump if whistleblower complaint is withheld
by Caitlin Yilek
 | September 23, 2019 09:02 AM

A Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee called for the House to begin impeaching President Trump by the end of the week if a whistleblower complaint against Trump is withheld from Congress.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi gave the administration until Thursday to hand over the complaint, the same day acting Director of National Intelligence Joseph Maguire testifies to the House Intelligence Committee.

“She gave him a deadline of Thursday. If he’s not forthcoming, I think we should start impeachment on Friday before we leave town,” Texas Rep. Joaquin Castro told NPR on Monday.

It doesn't look good.  Just days after crowing the Mueller report proved there was "no collusion",  Trump's on the phone with Ukraine's new President, apparently seeking to collude with a foreign power to investigate his likely opponent.

This needs to be cleared up one way or the other as soon as possible, so the GOP can figure out who its nominee is going to be.

Or, technically, a brother of one of the Clown Car participants thinks he's got 'im now.  Even dumb-Schitt isn't that stupid.

You know it's being reported the "whistleblower" had no direct knowledge of the "crime," right?  He heard it from a friend, who likely heard it from his wife's second cousin's hairdresser.

It evades me because IANAL, but I think there is a technical term for that kind of testimony.

Sorry, @Jazzhead , but after three years of deep state disinformation—amplified hourly by the Get Trump media—Trump’s republican supporters are immune to this endless parade of lies.

This latest phony scandal about a Trump-Ukraine connection will assuredly go down in flames and end up engulfing Joe Biden and the democrats. There’s too much combustible material—on the record—surrounding old Joe on Ukraine.

He’ll wish he never heard of this whistleblower.

I think there's a non-technical term for that kind of testimony.  It's the same kind of testimony that people like Jazzhead deem "apparently", with no actual proof and against all logic and reason ....considering the last three years of constant BS from these same deep staters.  I call it partisan bullcrap.

It really is partisan misinformation, and we can tell things about people by their use of it.

I don't disagree that the underlying scandal could bring down Biden.    But what of a President crowing "no collusion"  speaking days later with Ukraine's President about investigating Trump's political opponent?    Is this all hearsay?   All I know is what I'm reading in the WSJ,  which I consider a reputable source.   But IF it's true,  how is it defensible?

The ironic part of all of this is.... we already know that Biden is corrupt to the core (and his son, too)... since he's on video admitting to his threats and collusion with the Ukraine PTBs back then.   The allegation from this anonymous "whistleblower" is hearsay since the person blowing that whistle didn't even hear the call.  You're grasping at straws, IOW.

The WSJ was fooled, too.  You're in good company, because I usually consider them more reliable than NYT.  Unfortunately, not this time.

From this morning's WJS's lead editorial:

"Mr. Trump's request showed bad judgement.   He was trying to draw a foreign leader into the middle of American domestic politics, which can only lead to political trouble.  We learned that from the Russia fiasco of 2016.

The request to Mr. Zelensky is worse if it came with a threat to cut off U.S. military aid.   Mr. Trump and others say there was no quid pro quo request.   But we know the Trump Administration delayed [appropriated] U.S. aid to Ukraine in early July for unexplained reasons.  The U.S. released the aid later after bipartisan criticism of the delay.  Mr. Zelensky surely understood the potential risk of not complying with Mr. Trump's request even if Mr. Trump wasn't explicit.

What we know of the call underscores Mr. Trump's greatest flaw as President, which is his political narcissism.  Every decision boils down to how it affects him or his re-election prospects.  Other Presidents have made similar calculations, but Mr. Trump lacks the basic filter to know when he is crossing a line that creates trouble for himself or the country."

This needs to be gotten to the bottom of, and quickly.   I'll say it again - the GOP needs to know sooner rather than later who its nominee will be.

I'll wait for all the "ifs" to be squared away.  There have been a whole lotta "if-trues" that have not panned out, WRT Donald Trump.

No,  the DNC doesn't pay me to quote the Wall Street Journal.

But since you raised the subject,  how much is the DNC paying you to be willfully blind to the emerging reality of a crippled and unelectable GOP nominee creating the conditions for the election of a race-baiting socialist?
