Daquq: 15 Kurdish Villages So Far Evacuated Due to IS Attacks

ERBIL - A total of 15 Kurdish villages have so far been evacuated in Daquq district, southern Kirkuk province, as the Islamic State (IS) continues to attack the security forces and civilians in the liberated areas.

Talking to BasNews, Hiwa Rashid, a Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) representative to the area, said that the villagers fled their rural areas as a result of the increased terrorist activities by the jihadist group in the region.

There are tens of Kurdish villages where the residents continue to evacuate due to the deteriorated security in Daquq, noting that the majority of the Kurdish families have moved to the cities to find a better life, he said.
