The universe may be 2 billion years younger than we think

Scientists propose an age of 11.2 billion years rather than 13.7, but study has a large margin of error
The Associated Press · Posted: Sep 12, 2019 3:25 PM ET |

The universe is looking younger every day, it seems.

New calculations suggest the universe could be a couple billion years younger than scientists now estimate, and even younger than suggested by two other calculations published this year that trimmed hundreds of millions of years from the age of the cosmos.

The huge swings in scientists' estimates — even this new calculation could be off by billions of years — reflect different approaches to the tricky problem of figuring the universe's real age.

"We have large uncertainty for how the stars are moving in the galaxy," said Inh Jee, of the Max Planck Institute in Germany, lead author of the study in Thursday's journal Science.

Scientists estimate the age of the universe by using the movement of stars to measure how fast it is expanding. If the universe is expanding faster, that means it got to its current size more quickly, and therefore must be younger.

The expansion rate, called the Hubble Constant , is one of the most important numbers in cosmology. A larger Hubble Constant makes for a faster-moving — and younger — universe.

Until science can disprove, by solid empirical data grounded in mathematics,
the thesis of the Father of Modern Physics, Ernest  Rutherford, the Earth
remains 4,600,000,000 years old.

The universe must be female.

So, the Universe is lying about its age?
"The most terrifying force of death, comes from the hands of Men who wanted to be left Alone. They try, so very hard, to mind their own business and provide for themselves and those they love. They resist every impulse to fight back, knowing the forced and permanent change of life that will come from it. They know, that the moment they fight back, their lives as they have lived them, are over. -Alexander Solzhenitsyn

Should this be in History? Its only based on calculations. No recording of events leading up to the present.

We are in a simulation

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Simulation_hypothesis

Simulation hypothesis
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The simulation hypothesis or simulation theory proposes that all of reality, including the Earth and the universe, is in fact an artificial simulation, most likely a computer simulation. Some versions rely on the development of a simulated reality, a proposed technology that would seem realistic enough to convince its inhabitants the simulation was real. The hypothesis has been a central plot device of many science fiction stories and films.

Er.....while left unsaid, I implied that the age of Earth mirrors the age of the
Universe for the simple reason that creation was intuitively instantaneous.
Of course, if one chooses to believe that the Universe was created planet by
planet, sorta like we build bridges, roads and tunnels; then different
timelines are in order.
