Tell me about it.  I just purchased a new vehicle and the tech stuff comes standard; it's ridiculous and absolutely more than I'll ever use or want to learn to use.  Did I mention that it has driver's assist which is definitely more of a pain than an assistance.  I kept telling the sales person I just wanted the basic model to get me from point A to point B -- "m'aam, this is the basic model".  Good grief!

This whole thing reminds me of the story from California, repealing the law requiring that you help a police office if they need it.  Instead of aiming their gaze at homelessness, illegal immigration, crime, over-taxation, over-priced housing market, etc., they are looking at an old law that doesn't affect anything.
