Republican Jim Sensenbrenner announces he won't seek reelection

Rep. Jim Sensenbrenner (R-Wis.) announced he will not seek reelection during an interview with Wisconsin radio host Mark Belling on Wednesday.

The Wisconsin Republican, 76, was first elected to the lower chamber in 1978.

“When I began my public service in 1968, I said I would know when it was time to step back. After careful consideration, I have determined at the completion of this term, my 21st term in Congress, it will be that time," he said in a statement, describing his record during that period.

Sensenbrenner currently sits on the House Judiciary Committee and the House Committee on Foreign Affairs.

Do rats never retire/quit? Feinstein keeps a bibb & drool cup in the cloak room pantry & Patrick Leahy smells like a dialysis machine repairman. Wild horses couldn’t drag RBG out of the SCOTUS. But pubs are dropping like flies.

The 15 or 16 Republicans are leaving Trump.  A few Texas Representatives are in that group. I expect them to be replaced with Democrats.

A couple of thoughts; perhaps they are not so much leaving Trump as they are leaving because of retirement age.  Their duty is to their constituents, not Trump. Perhaps they are tired of the left mud slinging or perhaps Trump won't join in on the country club's game.

Sensenbrenner is 76 and has been in Congress for 40 years.

Term limits, folks.  The American people deserve term limits.
