Venezuela, a Ticking Time Bomb For Latin America
By Sabrina Martín

What happens in Venezuela doesn’t affect Venezuelans alone. The entire region will remain in danger as long as Chavismo is in power

Venezuela, the country that was famous for its prosperity and oil production, is today, the country that represents the greatest threat to Latin America and the world. The massive migratory wave, links with drug trafficking and terrorism, and the alliances with totalitarian, socialist, and dictatorial governments represent a ticking time bomb.

A lot of people say what that American Conservative article apparently does. So posting. It is a good point, it is a good debate.

"Why should we, the US, care about what happens there?, They voted for it".

To an extent I agree. My thought on this though, is we've probably meddled in Latin America on a negative basis, We aren't perfect ourselves. So, do we watch it go to hell-in-a-handbasket?  Not Venezuela so much but we probably have intervened in ways.

AND, if one wants to say "You're talking about the Central American wars of the 1980s", well, we do have that action in Honduras cerca I believe under Obama/Clinton...

So, we need to do the right thing. The right thing is not to invade militarily in my opinion but perhaps, to keep the pressure on otherwise.  Aid people when we can, which we are doing, for example, with that hospital ship.
