From what little I could read, the guy's acquaintance accused him of assault. The police officer approached and threatened the guy without first identifying themselves as police. The guy thought he was being assaulted by rando thugs and tried to defend himself. That was the guy's case, and because the prosecutor could not prove otherwise, the guy was acquitted (and was also acquitted of assault against his acquaintance). That the verdict took 30 minutes - barely time to fill out necessary paperwork and such - indicates that either the prosecutor did not try to refute the claim that the officers did not identify themselves, or whatever was tried was deemed non-credible by the jury.
