Impeachment fever rises as Dems face summer-recess pressure to go after Trump

The summer recess has turned up the heat on congressional Democrats to get on board the Trump impeachment push.

At town hall meetings across the country this August, rank-and-file Democrats returning to their home districts have faced intense pressure from left-wing activists demanding they support efforts to impeach President Trump when they return to Washington, D.C.


The impact this will have on the impeachment drive – which some lawmakers insist is already underway to an extent, despite little public support at present from House Speaker Nancy Pelosi – remains to be seen.

But The Hill reports 30 Democrats have backed starting the process since the recess began. In total, at least 135 House members now support an impeachment inquiry, including 17 members of the House Judiciary Committee.

This is all part of the Dems' master strategy for making the 2020 elections a referendum on Trump,  in order to insinuate a socialist and race-baiting agenda past a distracted public.

A tactic they're sure to use against anybody who threatens to be successful.  Therefore, we must never nominate Republicans who might rock the boat.  We need 51 Romneys in the Senate.

I've always had the feeling that the Dems were 'saving' the impeachment thing for the election. They may want Trump to campaign and to go into the election while under impeachment hearings. There are so many feckless RINOs and NeverTrumps in Congress that the Republicans would probably allow them to get away with it, instead of just forcing a vote.

Ever wonder why the Left hates Trump to pathological levels of hatred?

It’s not for the same reasons that NeverTrumpers do. NeverTrumpers simply can’t abide Trump’s blunt, unpresidential language and demeanor. His personality grates on them. They’re embarrassed by his public persona. They are ashamed that this crude man, Donald Trump—a reality star for Pete sake, represents the US on the world stage, in their house, on their playground.

But, democrats and Leftists (is there any difference today?), they are quite different. They hate Trump because they fear him. They fear his honest talk and his ability to connect with working people—something he learned working summers at his dad’s construction sites—and they hate his America-first agenda, and that he has steadfastly worked on getting great judges, and has had a good measure of success with it. But, most of all they fear his power as president to interfere with their agenda.

Trouble for them is, Trump’s not done winning yet.  happy77

That's an absurd conclusion.   Sure, the Dems play dirty (so do we),  but what's different in 2020 is that the tactic looks like it may be successful.   Even many of Trump's supporters hold their noses at the reality show.
