Israel denies Omar and Tlaib entry after Trump tweet

Israel on Thursday announced that it would deny Reps. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) and Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.) entry to the country during an upcoming overseas trip, citing the lawmakers' past comments critical of the territory.

The decision was announced moments after President Trump tweeted that it would show "great weakness" for Israel to allow the two congresswomen into the country, calling them a “disgrace.”

The president has been an outspoken critic of both Omar and Tlaib, who last year became the first two Muslim women elected to Congress.


Deputy Israeli Foreign Minister Tzipi Hotovely said the country would not “allow those who deny our right to exist in this world to enter,” according to The Israeli Times. Hotovely called it a “very justified decision.”

I'm not sure why Israel ever considered allowing those two notoriously public antisemites to enter Israel, but I'm glad for this decision. At best Omar and Tlaib were going there for anti-Israel propaganda purposes, and the possibilities beyond that ......

The reactions of Omar and Tlaib, their House Dem comrades, the Dem Party generally, and the MSM will be interesting. I'm expecting a @#$%-storm and hope Israel does not cave to it.

They wanted to go there to lead riots and altercations just hoping that Israel would arrest them. Also, the Palestinians are famous for faking wounds for the international press. These two Mecca Worshippers could easily start a riot, then pour blood on their head and face and claim that Israel assaulted them. The Arabs in Israel do this all the time.

Whatever propaganda event they had in mind, we can be certain that they were up to no good. Israel is not stupid.

I don't see any purpose for their visit other than to act as propaganda tools for the PLO Hamas and Hezbollah.  I can only imagine the PR value to the terrorist organizations their visit would have caused.

Fomenting a "Palestinian" uprising within Israel was exactly their goal, and Israel was well within their rights as a Nation to bar their entry as a security measure.  Should not have taken a Trump tweet to spur them into action, and I'm not sure it did.  Bibi had to have had this as a plan the moment he found out the pro-BDS Reps were wanting to go to Israel.  They aren't wanting to go there to distribute candy to little Jewish kids.
