Tea Party Ex-Congressman Joe Walsh Apologizes For Helping Elect ‘Unfit Con Man’ Trump

Former Rep. Joe Walsh (R-Ill.), the conservative talk-show host and prominent “tea party” figure, on Wednesday called President Donald Trump an “unfit conman” and a “racial arsonist” and urged a primary challenge for the Republican nomination next year.

Walsh also apologized both for his own heated rhetoric over the years and for helping to elect Trump in 2016.

A few comments:
1. Walsh's comments aren't new. He's been a critic of the President for many years... even though he's got a history of being just as provocative (which cost him his seat in Congress) and I'm not sure how genuine his mea culpa is.

2. Yeah, I know, Huffpo and the Slimes. It is what it is. Take it for what it's worth.

3. But still, Walsh was no lefty. Like Justin Amash, Walsh has been a fierce conservative, and it's becoming disturbingly clear that the GOP's conservative wing, and thus conservatism as a whole, is being neutered and its key figures marginalized.

Once in awhile I get to listen to him late at night. Though, I don't agree with him on it, I have little objection to his voicing his concerns.

My first thought in reading Walsh's "Trump has to be primaried" screed is, "well, Joe, why don't you run?"

Thing is, there is no conservative in the Republican Party with the balls to take on Trump.  Obviously, Walsh doesn't have them either.

Whether conservative-libertarian votes went for Johnson or McMullin (whose stated objective was to prevent Trump becoming President, they had the effect of increasing Hillary's chances of becoming President. Just as votes for Stein had the effect of increasing Trump's chances of becoming President. My post was simply realistic.
