by Cristina Laila     August 9, 2019

A US border patrol marine unit on Friday morning was fired upon by Mexican cartels from the Mexican riverbank.

“Early this morning, agents assigned to the Rio Grande City Station Marine Unit patrolling near Fronton, Texas, reported they were fired upon from the Mexican riverbank. Agents saw four subjects with automatic weapons who shot over 50 rounds at them. The boat was hit several times but no one on board was injured,” Border Patrol announced on Friday.

This incident is currently under investigation.

See story, image of a Border Patrol tweet seems to confirm this story. It sounds pretty fantastic. A lot of times for me at least, websites like gatewaypundit, I take with a grain of salt. Significant if so.

Marines?

What did they do in response?

It goes without saying, being Marines, what they SHOULD have done "in response"...

Marines? Negatory. They were Border Patrol in a small boat, I.E a "Marine Unit".

In TEXAS only the Rangers/Highway Patrol can shot back at Mesicans, Legally.  Gov. Abbott has different ROE's than Trump.

See, we had a war with them and there is some sort of limitation with what our armed forces can do. BUT, our border patrol has definitely shot and killed people over in Mexico, some kid was throwing rocks over near Nogales and the Border Patrol agent shot him while the lad was in Mexico, I thought it happened near El Paso, whatever.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/post-nation/wp/2018/04/24/u-s-border-agent-who-repeatedly-shot-mexican-teen-through-a-fence-acquitted-of-murder/  Pretty sure the kid was in Mexico.

Posse Comitatus? That seems to have some applications too.

Bottom line, there might be some limits as to what we can do as pointed out.

From your second link:

The Posse Comitatus Act does not apply to the Army National Guard and the Air National Guard when acting in a law enforcement capacity within its own state when ordered by the governor of that state or in an adjacent state if invited by that state’s governor.
