COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Eight months after he sought sanctuary from a Colorado Springs church to avoid deportation, Miguel Ramirez Valiente stands accused of careless driving with a revoked license in a crash that claimed the life of a father of five.

Now, those who know Ramirez Valiente say he never should have been driving.

"It took people saying, 'You need to say something about this to get that family help and justice,' and that’s when we made the call," said a close acquaintance of Ramirez Valiente, who asked to have her identity protected for her safety. "My heart broke for this family because this could be prevented."

Amazing story, the bottom line of Italy's Salvini, interior minister, is that the migrants (not sure of their status say as compared to here, "illgal" etc. ) can kill people in the land they flee too or subject the country to other crimes.  What amount of risk is worth it?

A lot of innocents in the US are killed, maimed, robbed and so on. That alone is a good argument for the most intense border security. Yes, we have plenty of problems with Americans too.  We don't need more.

But, wait - you mean requiring instruction, a license and insurance didn't prevent this?

What an awful story.

Quote from another article...

"In an ironic twist, Buchanan was known among friends a passionate advocate for all immigrants."

Ooops.

CNN Profiled an Illegal Facing Deportation – He’s Now Accused of Killing a Father of Five

By Rusty | Featured Contributor | August 9, 2019 10:43AM

This past January, as a government shutdown battle was ongoing due to Democrats unwillingness to compromise on border security, CNN profiled Miguel Ramirez Valiente, an illegal from El Salvador forced to avoid deportation by taking shelter in a church.

On August 2nd, Ramirez Valiente reportedly struck and killed a father of five while driving despite a revoked license.

Sean Buchanan, according to Colorado State Patrol troopers, was riding his motorcycle on Highway 83 in Colorado Springs when Ramirez Valiente swerved recklessly into his lane and killed him.

CNN has blood on it's hands. Does anyone expect CNN to cover this story?

‘Sanctuary Church’ Helped Illegal Alien Evade Deportation Before He Allegedly Killed Father of Five

John Binder9 Aug 2019

The All Souls Unitarian Universalist Church in Colorado helped an illegal alien evade deportation months before he was accused of killing a father of five.

As Breitbart News reported, 40-year-old illegal alien Miguel Ramirez Valiente from El Salvador is accused of hitting and killing Sean Buchanan, a father of five children, on August 2. Valiente has a criminal record dating back to 2011, including a drunk driving charge in 2017.

In January, Valiente was able to evade deportation by hiding out in the All Souls Unitarian Church — a so-called “sanctuary church” that allows illegal aliens to stay on their properties to avoid being arrested by federal immigration officials.

Immigrant advocate, father of 5, killed in crash by illegal alien facing deportation

Illegal alien Miguel Ramirez Valiente, sheltered from deportation by All Souls Unitarian Universalist Church, Colorado Springs, and now a father of 5 is dead.

A staunch supporter of the rights of immigrants – and a married father of five – was killed last week when an illegal immigrant from El Salvador facing deportation crashed into his motorcycle in Colorado.

Sean Buchanan, 45, was driving northbound on Highway 83 on August 2 when Colorado State Patrol say a southbound truck operated by Miguel Ramirez Valiente went off the side of the road, then over-corrected into the wrong lane and crashed into Buchanan’s bike, killing him.

Valiente, an undocumented immigrant who was slated for deportation eight months earlier, was charged with misdemeanor careless driving

If it was an accident among two legal residents I can see why it might only be termed that. The problem though is why is this criminal (here illegally) even here.

I understand the labor shortage first hand. It is incredibly hard to find good contractors at an affordable price. However, that being the case it's even more important to secure our borders, establish rational immigration laws and know who is in the country. At least then we could have people come in who would help the country prosper.
A stranger in a hostile foreign land I used to call home
