President Trump on Friday welcomed news that A$AP Rocky was released from prison in Sweden pending a verdict in his assault trial, telling the rapper to "get home ASAP" after a "Rocky Week."

"A$AP Rocky released from prison and on his way home to the United States from Sweden," Trump tweeted.

Stockholm, Sweden (CNN)A court in Stockholm has allowed A$AP Rocky to await the outcome of his assault trial in the United States, releasing the American rapper who has spent the past month in Swedish jail.

The Stockholm District Court has not yet made a ruling in the case, but said Friday that A$AP Rocky and his two co-defendants were free to leave Sweden. A judgment will be delivered on August 14.

His case had fueled a diplomatic quarrel after repeated interventions from US President Donald Trump, who publicly demanded the rapper's release, even raising the issue with the Swedish Prime Minister Stefan Löfven. Swedish authorities have repeatedly stressed that the country's judiciary is independent and that the government is "not allowed, and will not attempt, to influence the legal proceedings."

Why is Trump even involved in this matter?  Let the justice system in Sweden work.  If the guy is guilty, he should face punishment.  Encouraging him to leave the country is irresponsible.

Since the verdict apparently won’t be given until August 14, I doubt if the Swedes will just let him leave the country before then.

It would be great if black Americans could appreciate what Trump is doing for them even if he hadn't interceded twice now for black Americans overseas accused of crimes.
But I just can't believe that will translate into stronger support for Trump from black Americans at the polls next year.

If I’m Sweden, I’d deport his ass with extreme prejudice followed up with this tweet - “When America sends its people, they’re not sending their best. They’re not sending you. They’re not sending you. They’re sending people that have lots of problems, and they’re bringing those problems with us. They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rappers. And some, I assume, are good people.”
