Violent Inmate With ICE Hold Released By Texas County Sheriff’s Deputy

SAN ANTONIO, TX (KSAT) – A Bexar County jailer was suspended for mistakenly releasing an inmate who was being held on an ICE detainer, according to disciplinary documents.

Deputy Selena Berlanga was suspended without pay for five days in April, three months after Ricardo Mujica was improperly released from jail.

On Jan. 15, Berlanga walked out a group of inmates set to be released. Berlanga had release paperwork for 14 inmates, according to the document, but 16 of them were in line.

Incompetence like that will probably end up getting some innocent American killed.  She should be fired instead of "5 days w/o pay".  Good grief.

If you really think this was an accident I have some swampland in Arizona you need to look at.

I don't know his history, but it's quite possible.... ergo why she only got a slap on the wrist (5 days w/o pay suspension = 5 day vacay).
