Boris Johnson is ascending to power in the midst of a tense diplomatic standoff with Iran

British MP Matthew Offord of the Conservative party said Tuesday he believes Boris Johnson's government will follow after President Donald Trump and withdraw from the 2015 nuclear deal between Iran and world powers.

Boris Johnson on Tuesday won the race to become Britain's next prime minister, catapulting the former London mayor and Foreign Secretary straight into confrontation not only with parliament and Brussels over Brexit, but also into a tense diplomatic stand-off with Iran.
