If this mentions global climate change, I"m not with that necessarily, I just thought the idea of wasp nests so huge was curious. By the way, this is from the Weather Channel, I thought the founder came out saying he did not buy global warming. So, weather related here, could mean other as well.

Huge Yellowjacket Nests are Being Found in Alabama
Several big yellowjacket nests have been discovered in Alabama over the past few years. And climate change may be to blame.

    Several "super nests" of yellow jackets have been sighted in Alabama.These nests can grow to the size of a Volkswagen Beetle and have been known to house up to 250,000 yellow jackets. One of the warmest winters on record in the South is likely the culprit for the massive nests.
