@sneakypete
And what if I did? What if I got a bunch of like-minded folks together and created a town.
And that town banned businesses from being open on Sabbath, banned certain foods from being sold within city limits, and formed a school to teach our kids, and did all that to live the way we see fit.

What business is that of yours?

@roamer_1

None whatsoever unless I lived in that town and you tried to make your rules apply to me.

So the whole town has to change just because you show up?

Think about what that question says about your mindset.

@sneakypete
Yeah. My mindset is to leave folks be.
Power concentrated in town and  county is as close to the people as possible.
Those folks voted for things to be that way.
If you don't like it, go move to a state or town that better suits you.

That is Federalism. That is the very definition of the sovereignty of the various states, and power closely concentrated in the people.

I would never think to impose my beliefs on a liberal atheist city, because I would never be living there in the first place.

Now that the federal government has taken authority over morality, I think you'll find it even less to your liking. And that is precisely what has happened - There is no moral neutral.
And since it is imposed from on high, there is no place else to go.

That is the price that was paid by allowing the feds to impose religion and morality - The very thing the Constitution protected against...
