The House of Representatives, led by Speaker Rep. Nancy Pelosi, thought a good use of their time was to talk about reparations.
They used the occasion of the date known as Juneteenth, on June 19, to have the hearings and it was as pandering as you would imagine.
Wikipedia describes Juneteenth as “an American holiday that commemorates the June 19, 1865, announcement of the abolition of slavery in the U.S. state of Texas, and more generally the emancipation of enslaved African Americans throughout the former Confederate States of America.
