States giving drivers licences to illegals.

OK. New here, if I do this wrong, post in wrong place, mods will be kind enough to help me,thanks. This issue irks me. States have a reciprocal drivers license agreement. Federal Gov. has no involvement. Most states do not allow illegals to obtain drivers licenses. There is no reason why states(such as where i live,MT) have to accept their drivers licenses/privileges. Am I wrong? It is exactly the same with many gun laws, including concealed carry. Funny, the states giving licenses to illegals are the same ones that have poor reciprocity on guns. It would barely affect lots of us, here in "flyover" country, but would greatly affect the high population area places that come here to "visit". Am hoping for some good feedback. Thanks,All.

I think the other States have the alternative of discontinuing the reciprocal driver licenses from, say, California.  The problem with that is California is likely to stop accepting licenses from such states as revenge.

K, been away a bit, and busy fixing vehicles before winter. The late "spring" snows have slowed me down, as I do not have a garage. States have different regulations to obtain/hold a CDL. However, they have to also follow federal laws, interstate. "Interstate trucking operations must abide by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, or FMCSRs, and federal Hazardous Material Regulations." It is still conceivable that a state can refuse to accept a CDL from another state. That's my gist on this.
