It's still more than one year away from the election. A number of presidents who were behind in the polls a year or more before their first or second term got re-elected.
I think a number of swing voters perceive Trump to be a gigantic jackass (which he is) and disregard any of his positive achievements because of his jackassery.
This has been Trump's biggest problem...despite many Republicans wishing he'd become presidential, he can't help being himself.
Here's hoping he changes before the election next year. But don't hold your breath. Dumb statements like this last one roll off his tongue every day.
Yes, the election is over a year away. I think President Trump has done very well when meeting with foreign heads of state and has really shown deep patriotism and I get the feeling that he is respected overseas.
On the other hand, he seems to have such a 'cocky' attitude at times as our President. Perhaps he has that attitude because of a lack of respect coming from his own party, the DEMS and the American public. But, unfortunately, that 'cocky' attitude was on full display while he was campaigning and before he even took the oath of office.
He has never stopped campaigning. He continues to tweet. He continues to say boneheaded things. Is it because he feels the need to constantly defend himself against the fake news? Keep in mind he's gone through an unwarranted witch hunt and calls for impeachment from almost day one.
No his cocky attitude doesn't help, but when push comes to shove, either you vote for Trump with all of his deep flaws, a bat crap crazy DEM, 3rd party or you don't vote.
I'm starting to hear and encounter people who say that they aren't going to vote this election. IMHO, I think that places Trump's re-election in serious jeopardy and he needs to do something to motivate people to re-elect him. So far, he's doing just the opposite.
