Mexico ready to retaliate if U.S. imposes tariffs: minister

MEXICO CITY (Reuters) - Mexico will be ready to retaliate in kind if the U.S. government imposes tariffs on Mexican exports to the United States, Mexican Economy Minister Graciela Marquez said on Friday.

Does it sound like they are expecting the deal to work?
AG William Barr: "I'm recused from that matter because one of the law firms that represented Epstein long ago was a firm that I subsequently joined for a period of time."

Alexander Acosta Labor Secretary resigned under pressure concerning his "sweetheart deal" with Jeffrey Epstein.  He was under consideration for AG after Sessions was removed, but was forced to resign instead.

Perhaps they aren't expecting it to work, or perhaps they don't have any intention of complying and signed the agreement to buy some time in order to get their own house in order.

Some reports are saying that the U.S. will be assisting Mexico on their lower border, while other reports are saying that Mexico has made some attempts at making some deportations and arrests.

What about the President saying he was going to release further details of the agreement in the near future?  Where are they?

Doubtful that we'll get an honest report at this time of what is actually going on.

Fake news reporting.  Like the Nt's they can not wait for the results.  Just want to talk the what ifs.

There are quite a few sources stating the same and quoting  Mexican Economy Minister Graciela Marquez, so personally, I'm not inclined to chalk this up to just 'fake news'.

Lots of fake news is going on, but it seems whenever there is anything even remotely negative about Trump or things aren't quite working out as hoped, it's always declared fake news.  I'm not confident that all of it is.

But if they wait what actually happens might not be what they want to report.

And that there in, is the rub.   Set the narrative.  Forget the results.  It is the way they roll today.
